Welcome
Clarinet player Thorsten Johanns, born and grown up in Krefeld, is well established as orchestra and chamber musician in Germany. He started to play clarinet at the age of 8 and later on also the saxophone. He has won several first prizes at the youth competition „Jugend musiziert“with both instruments, and started to study 1996 at the Hochschule für Musik Cologne with professor Ralph Manno.
Since 1998 he has been assistant principal at the Essen Philharmonic Orchestra, four years later he has switched to his current position as principal clarinetist at the WDR Symphony [...] Read more
